WELCOME BACK TO THE HANGER DECK HANG OUT AND TO PART 4 OF THE 1/100 SCALE BUILD!!!

(Again, last picture of part 3 but bronzed.)

Now we move onto the details of part 4....
In this section of the build I have focused on the right wall and deck
area of the hanger deck.

Here you can see the Pit sub structure that I build from (you guessed it)
computer parts and balsa wood. The platform is to the left (waiting for the glue to dry)
Also notice that i have removed the right wall and the detailed
deck surface for better access to the deck
and an unobstructed surface for cutting out the pit section.

Now that the glue has dried, I can show you an assembled view of the sub structure of the pit.
This was my first design attempt at a collapsing and extending repair cell for Valks
in the Battloid configuration.

Here you can see the beginning of the demo for the lowering of a Valk in Battloid mode.

And here you can see the platform in the fully lowered position with the Valk
awaiting repairs.

In this picture you can see the new pit sub structure added to the original set.
After this addition i was quickly aware of a structural problem.
The base in which the wooden dowel (shaft section) of the platform wasn't sturdy enough
to maintain the weight of the valk in a continuous level position.
so therefore as always a change was needed to be made.

(If you notice, I had to incorporate a raised version of the set with some left over
pieces of 2x4's from my on going condo renovations..but that's a whole other story)

So as you can see this is a close up of the temporary solution to the
constant level problem. I used a piece of PVC piping to incorporate a
solid (and unfortunately non-lowering) platform for the time being.
However if you do notice, I did re-install the right side wall and if you look closely,
you can see the layout of some eye candy soon to come. (LED's and
some wiring all ready in process on the back of the right wall)

Hmmmmm I wonder if i should leave it off here or maybe I will be nice and
give you a peak of what is to come...................................................

Ah who am I kidding of course I'm gonna give you a peak lol.

soooooo its time to turn out the lights........

and plug in the "hanger deck lights"!!!!

I chose to show Izzy getting her Battloids head re-installed after a fatal
crash. (she took a nose dive off of the desk and she was fine until I
ran her over with the office chair... )

Anyways here you can see that I incorporated some red LED's above the doors,
some soft yellow lights in the hanger bay observatory area,
and an overhead spot light for the pit assembly area (bright white LED's)

I decided to show you another view of the pit action and lighting
detail incorporated to the right wall. In this picture you
can see the duel blue LED's for added lighting and effect.
I know it is still kinda dark but i am no where near finished.

(also note that I haven't installed the deck lighting yet either)

For now I am leaving you with a birds eye view as a departing picture.

Seriously, even looks more awesome with those lights, by the way I dig those shots. You've really dedicated yourself to this project and it really shows. That's certainly one thing I admire about you Grin

awww thanks HP!! I can't help but to get in depth into it. I mean its no different for me with this project as it is for you with yours. You can truly see the devotion and dedication spent on your story and artwork. So Kudos right back at you 1/100 scale hanger deck part IV 872329

Hmmmm I do recall still waiting for specs from you lol.....If I got them earlier than I might have been able to make a meeting arangement with you since I will be closer (Portland, Oregon) to you in 2 days.....ah but perhaps another time (when i get your input lol)

Lol no problem Sir!! I understand, life does get in the way sometimes and for good reason (chapter3 was the bomb lol) so when you get around to it...i would still be interested in hearing your ideas when you get the chance.
